We explore a plan to keep the Murray-Darling flowing and look at how kids are putting frogs first. We visit a dry area with no water problems and check out the perils of plastic bags.
Friday 1 August 10.15am	02. Critters in Crisis - NEW! Animals are a firm favourite with the BtN audience. In this special we look at the controversial issue of kangaroo culling and visit Romania to go to a teddy bear's picnic with a difference. BtN also spies on seals in the icy Antarctic waters.
Friday 8 August 10.15am	03. Money Matters - NEW! Does money matter? Economic issues are always in the headlines and BtN closely examines the complex topics of inflation and price fixing. We also look at the cost of housing - what can be done to get people into the market and how renting is becoming unaffordable.
Friday 15 August 10.15am	04. High Achievers - NEW! BtN loves a Good News Story and this special looks at some pretty impressive sports people. We meet a gymnast who is taking a shot at another sport, a couple of very talented race car drivers and a remarkable young man who is beating the odds to get back in the saddle.
Friday 22 August 10.15am	05. Cutting Edge - NEW! If you've ever wondered how science fits into surfing BtN has the answer - we've found a man who is engineering the perfect surf beach. Then we dive a little deeper to the mysterious world of an underwater volcano and discover that living on Mars might be closer to science fact than science fiction.
Friday 29 August 10.15am	06. Kids Issues - NEW! BtN looks at teaching a second language at school, we meet a group of scouts celebrating their centenary and we consider the issue of fingerprinting to prevent truancy.
Friday 5 September 10.15am	07. Healthy Living - NEW! Join BtN for this Healthy Living special where we diagnose the issue of organ donation. We ask why some people get sick in Spring and question limits on cosmetic surgery. We also take a look at the hospital system and how it works.
Friday 12 September 10.15am	08. Australian Wildlife This "Australian wildlife" special lets us give some Aussie natives the Behind the News treatment. We talk to an expert about the dangers of snakes, discover a fish that's been crosssed with a chainsaw and join a class of kids as they scour the bush for creepy crawlies.
Friday 19 September 10.15am	09. Sport This BtN "Sport" special looks at some diverse issues including the demise of country sporting clubs. We also calculate how much size really matters and meet some youngsters using a whistle to join the sporting elite.
Friday 26 September 10.15am	10. Global Warming Saving the planet is a topic that concerns everyone, and in this BtN special on "Global Warming" we examine many of the alternatives. There's wind, water, hot-rocks and the sun as well as trading carbon emissions.
Friday 17 October 10.15am	11. Natural Disasters Planet Earth can be unprecictable and destructive and this BtN special looks at "Natural disasters", how and why they occur and what can be done to cope with the consequences. In Australia we cover the devastation of floods to the desperation of those caught up in crippling drought. Further afield we look at the earthquakes of Indonesia and ask if Australia is at risk.
