Pastoralists keen to raise tenure security with State Government
Tenure security is back on the agenda in the pastoral industry, a year after WA pastoralists voted against a new land tenure model.
It's been raised at Pastoralists and Grazier's Association meetings across the state including the Gascoyne division meeting in Carnarvon last week.
PGA President Rob Gillam says members are seeking a lease which offers more security than the previous State Government's model.
Carnarvon food trail takes shape
We all like to treat our tastebuds when we go on holiday, but often its only the locals who know where to find the best produce.
Carnarvon's food bowl wants to share its love of all things locally grown with the rest of the country by launching a food trail next year.
Last week fruit and vegetable producers met with the Gascoyne Development Commission to bounce off a few ideas.
The GDC's project officer Jennifer Peate says the towns horticulture, seafood and the hospitality industry will be featured in the trail.
Quality and prices up at Midland cattle sales
Another big yarding at midland this week with 2,900 head of cattle going under the hammer, out of those 650 pastoral cattle were penned.
Livestock agent Jeff Lynn says quality and prices also saw a lift.
