The funniest thing that has ever happened to us while touring is... I'll never forget the day Chris was bitten by a 2.5 metre Taipan during a day off in northern Qld. You should've seen the look on his face!! We don't get these in the south west so I was lucky to have my camera with me and snap off a couple of shots before it slip away. (Question by Dino)
The best thing about playing live is... not stuffing up!! (Question by Sarah)
The most difficult album to record was... As an experiment, we chose to record the second album using only a hammer, some jumbo sized elastic bands and a bucket of soapy frogs. Needles to say, the technical difficulties arising from this were almost insurmountable, and I think we did a fine job under the circumstances. (Question by Pacino)
Our advice for young people trying to start out their own band is... find a group of people that get along well with each other, spend about a year practising, writing and playing to 50 or 60 people at shows locally to hone your live act. Self fund your first album and release it independently, selling about 200 000 copies in Australia. Get some overseas exposure if you can but not essential. You should now be offered a range of vastly overblown publishing and recording contracts in this and hopefully other territories. Proceeds from the first album will more than pay for some first class legal advice at this point and will support the band until you use your newfound leverage to best effect in the negotiation of a favourable contract. (Question by John Boy)
Our favourite bands are... any band who aren't complete ******* and whose music doesn't totally suck are okay by us. We have wide ranging tastes. We like a lot of Australian bands... (Question by Rob)
To da singer: If my voice was a piece of cake, it would it be a... I cant speak for him but I don't think a piece of cake could ever take the place of a larynx. Interestingly, humans are much more susceptable to choking on food - such as cake - due to the positioning of our vocal chords which of course allow speech. Some birds can talk, but might a cockatoo choke on a small piece of cake? I'm not sure but cake probably isn't a very healthy food for birds, you might want to check on that. (Question by Jegger)
I find inspiration from... late night television - especially infomercials and evangalistic stuff. (Question by Robert)
My greatest role model is... unquestionalbly, Bryan Adams. (Question by Chrystal)
My favourite song I've done is... Summer of 69'. No, wait that was Bryan Adams... oh, how bout that one off the first album, I cant rememebr what it's called, it sort of goes, 'badda badda badda buddabudda peh! duh duh duh duh doooooooooo, chicka chick chicka chik, then theres a softer bit... c'mon you know the one! It's filth mate. (Question by Ref)
If I could sing a duet with anyone it would be with... Bryan Adams (Question by Jegger)
If there were one song that I wish I had written, it would be... Summer of 69 - but I would still let Bryan Adams sing it. Actually this one could probably accommodate the duet with a bit of work. (Question by Cilla)
If you could go back in time, the thing I would change about my school life would be... never to have tasted that first boogy. (Question by Pauly)
The muppet that is most like me is... probably Gonzo (Question by Mois)
On tour, my favourite food is... free!! Failing that, reasonably priced and with low levels of bacteria. (Question by Deiter)
If I could have any pet I would own... a tiger. (Question by Joey)
My favourite t-shirt is... the one on top of the clean pile. (Question by Hogan)
Do you think becoming successful is harder for bands coming from Perth rather than coming from the east coast? Absolutely not! In fact with the level of interest, excitement and grudging respect the Perth scene has attracted over the past five years, I wouldn't be surprised if WA was the best state in the country for a young band to cut their teeth. If not, we have our own music awards so you can all just **** ***!!!! (Question by Drome)
Were you guys friends before you started playing together? Yes, except for myself and Vanessa and Chris and I - and of course me and Kev - we're brothers. (Question by Ashley)
To da jebs: Which generally comes first; the melody, the lyrics, the bass lick or the drum beat? Kevin writes all of our songs on the Shamisen, which he has been playing for about 15 years - long before he picked up his first guitar. Then as they are brought to the rest of the band we interpret them as we see fit, usually starting with bass, or a beat, or sometimes with a guitar progression. Lyrics come last, they are are penned by Denis Handlin (head of Sony Australia) after the music is complete. (Question by Jegger)
All my friends always talk about Irish dancing & I usually feel left out. If I told them that you guys can't do it I think I wouldn't look that pathetic. Did you guys take Irish dancing lessons for your video clip? Is it that hard? Do they? Don't !! ummright.. sort of err.. yes probably. (Question by Rachel)
My favourite ride at an amusement park is... the Dunky Dunk Egg! Where you are suspended by your feet bungee style and repeatedly plunged in and out of an enormous vat of yolk until you lose consciousness. It appears to be less popular recently. (Question by Team Wick)
If you could design your own rollercoaster, it would be called... Mr Zippy (Question by The Rollercoaster Team)
Jebediah ask you: Why do spoons and forks still exist as separate utensils when we have the technology to combine both functions in one tool -- The Spork!
