Tell us about your new movie Cheaper By The Dozen. What was it like filming with such a big cast?
Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt (who play Hilary's parents in the movie) were both really cool. There were 12 kids in the movie so it was never boring and always pretty hectic on set.
(Question by Miss Mod)

What was the craziest thing that happened?
There's a boy called Jacob who plays one of my little brothers in the movie. And he had this little poker machine where, if you pulled down the handle, it shocked you. And it really hurt! One day he went up to Steve and was like 'Steve, try and get all the pineapples.' So Steve pulled the handle and went 'Aaargh!' and jumped in the air! That was pretty funny!

What was the best thing about working on your album?
I did Lizzie McGuire from the time I was 12 until I was 14 but I’m a little bit older now so this album is a natural progression of that. It’s just me singing the kind of music that I like to listen to. I’ve had a few people say ‘Oh my gosh, it’s really cool. We thought it was going to be sugar pop.’ But then I’ve heard other people say, ‘It’s perfectly pleasant pop.’ And then I’m like ‘Grrrrr!’ Because I don’t want it to be like that. I want it to be a bit more rock. But at least their not saying it totally stinks!
(Question by Tweak)

If you had to choose between singing and acting, which would you choose and why?
I hate this question! You know they’re both so different. With the singing it’s very personal. I get to sing about how I’m feeling and stuff that’s going on in my life – things that I can relate to and hopefully that other people can relate to too. With the acting I’m kind of stepping out of myself and creating this character and that’s so much fun. I have two movies filmed that haven’t come out yet so I’ve kind of put that aside and I’m focusing on singing right now. I’m about to go on tour so people are going to be able to find out a little bit more about me. So, I’m going to say I like singing the best right now but in a month I’ll probably like acting better!
(Question by Sheree)

Who do look up to? You know, who gives you your ideas and inspiration...?
I've never looked up to anyone in the business like 'Oh, I want to be just like them.' There's definitely people I respect and that I think are really cool. But I've always looked up to my sister. She's three years older than me and we're like best friends. She's never done anything totally outlandish and we've always been really close to my parents and she's just been a really good role model for me to look up to. She's really cool, she wrote two songs on my album and she's really talented! And I love her and I miss her! (Laughs) I also love Dido and Nelly Furtado and people who are really into their music like that. And I love Renee Zellweger.
