This week's Horsey Challenge Winner - ßüçkïñg ß®öñ¢ð
Thundering Hooves March 21st, 2003
It was dark outside, and I mean dark. Pitch black. You could barely see two foot in front of you. Well i'm not afraid of the dark, well i wasn't. Not safe inside with the lights on and the television blaring. I was home alone, peace at last watching a video of my favourite show, the Saddle Club. Outside I heard horsey snorts coming from the barn. At first I barely noticed, but then I got a shiver up my spine as I realised there were no horses out there. I thought the wind must've been playing tricks on me, so I let it go without thought. Then the lights flickered and went out along with the telivision. "The wind must've blown an electricity pole down," I said aloud as if to reassure myself.
I searched the house and tripped over every peice of furniture. You'd think I'd have known better seeing as it was my own house, but it seemed like the furniture moved into my way. Anyway, after a thorough search I found no torches or candles. "Odd," I said. I picked up the phone to tell mum to get some candles on her way home but there was no dial tone. "Now this is getting spooky," I said aloud, my voice quavering.
Suddenly the door burst open and with a gush of wind came the sound of thundering hooves and coming straight towards me was a steel grey horse with blazing red eyes. His teeth bared as he came closer. Suddenly he stopped and reared over my cowering figure. I screamed as his sharp, glinting hooves came down on me...
The lights flicked on. I was alone, crouched in the middle of the room. I looked up. The door was shut, everthing was in place. there were even candles on the coffee table. The wind outside made a moaning noise, as though it was taunting me.
