Louise Mack: Woman War Correspondent

Australian journalist Louise Mack was one of the few woman war correspondents to report from the front line during World War One. A pioneer of first person war reportage, Louise Mack covered the early days of the conflict for the British press, including her eye witness account of the German invasion of the Belgian city of Antwerp in October 1914.

This program features extracts from Louise Mack's dispatches from the Great War, as well as recollections about the trailblazing 'lady' journalist from the writer Nancy Phelan, who is Louise Mack's niece.
