Cape Barren Island
|
The tiny and beautiful Cape Barren Island lies in Bass Strait, between Tasmania and the mainland. It is home to a number of Aboriginal families who have lived and worked on Cape Barren since European colonisation.
The island plays a central role in the childhood memories of Rachel and June. They recall their years of cooking limpets on the beach, sleeping in bagging tents and making do without shops, recreating all the tastes and sounds of their early years on an island paradise.
