Media ownership

The media chess-board play has become the order-of-the-day right now.

Kerry Stokes and now Rupert Murdoch have made moves on the share registries of West Australian Newspapers and Fairfax respectively.

All of that just this week, and coming in the wake of Jamie Packer's multi-billion dollar deal to hive off parts of PBL to form a new company.

Private equity players are in the mix and there is likely more to come on the mergers and acquisitions front.
