Next Generation Telstra
|
As we know, Telstra boss Sol Trujillo has spent much of his tenure at the company at loggerheads with the government and ACCC over regulation of Australia's telecommunications industry.
Telstra has long argued for the right to charge its competitors what it sees as a fair price for access to its proposed fibre network.
But, the ACCC ultimately wouldn't budge, leaving the company seemingly with no choice but to go to plan B.
And that plan—known as Next G—has now been launched.
Operating on a platform that uses the same technology that transmits calls from mobile phones, Next G is, according to the company, the highest speed network of its kind anywhere in the world. And it will reach almost 98 per cent of Australian users.
So is it all its cracked up to be?
