Hawaiian Cave Dig
|
From rare land forms and unique species in outback Australia we now go to something equally extraordinary in the Hawaiian Islands. A cave on the Island of Kauai made famous by the Indiana Jones movie The Temple of Doom. On the remote Southern Shores of Kauai a remarkable cave is revealing secrets of a long forgotton world. Paeleo ecologist Dr David Burney is finding fossils dating back to the Pleistocene more than a million years ago. He's using his discoveries to restore the environment around this national treasure to the way it was before Polynesians arrived.
