Israeli Political Fallout

Israel's political big bang - that's the way some commentators are describing Ariel Sharon's resignation from the Likud party, just over two weeks ago.
It seems as if Sharon's decision to set up the new Kadima party has set off a whole series of other political explosions in Israel this week.
On Wednesday, Shimon Peres resigned from Labour and offered support to his close friend Ariel Sharon. Whether he'll join Kadima remains to be seen.
