Enron Trial
04/02/2006
It was a long time coming but the final chapter in the Enron saga is at last being written.
Enron was the multi-billion dollar energy trading company that plummeted into bankruptcy in late 2001.
Just a year earlier, Enron was the seventh biggest corporation in America, employed thousands of people, and had a stock market valuation of around 70 BILLION dollars.
Some 16 former Enron executives have already pleaded guilty to various fraud and conspiracy charges relating to falsified accounts and outright lies about the company's financial status.
Jeffery Skilling and Kenneth Lay Respectively Enron's CEO and chairman at the time of the collapse are now before the courts.
