Guests on The Music Show this week: cellist David Pereira, composer Mary Finsterer and CD reviews with Rob Murray. Download a podcast of the interview with David Pereira.
David Pereira was arguably Australia's finest cellist but nearly three years ago he was diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Hospitalised, he stopped playing the cello and left his teaching post at the ANU. Now he's back, drug free and with three books on cello playing to boot. More importantly he's playing the cello better than ever and he talks about all this to Andrew Ford. Mary Finsterer is one of Australia's most original and internationally recognized composers. She talks to Andrew Ford about how she juggles work with being a mum, and her new opera about gambling called deLUDO.
