Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo

Review

by Jason Di Rosso

The Asian American potheads are back, this time getting themselves mistaken for terrorists and ending up on the run from a gung ho, paranoid counter terrorist chief. Run-of-the-mill gross-out humour combines with a playful critique of American prejudice and insularity. From cabin dwelling hillbillies to ghetto blacks and urban Jews, this puts a question mark over some stereotypes and a new twist on others. For a stoner comedy, it makes some lucid points.
