Baby Mama

I'm a sucker for a rom-com with good one-liners, no matter how unlikely the story. Baby Mama ticks the boxes for me—essentially a buddy movie about a thirtysomething career woman and the surrogate mum she pays to fall pregnant. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler get the central tension right—one's an uptight corporate dag; the other's a ditzy slacker. The rest of the movie, where we encounter the men in their lives (Greg Kinnear, Dax Shepard, Steve Martin) and a creepy fertility guru played by Sigourney Weaver, swings nicely.
