In 2008, the International Year of Languages, Lingua Franca continues to examine all aspects of language, including cross-cultural communication, literacy, language policy, multilingualism, neologisms, alphabets, prayers and maledictions, sledging, swearing and flattery, the language of public debate, as well as endangered, secret and even invented languages.
