Literary festivals hold the promise of recognition and adulation for a writer. Particularly if you are Harold Pinter. If you are not HP, fame and adulation could be somewhat more elusive.
Patrick McCabe's novels include The Butcher Boy and Breakfast on Pluto, which were both made into feature films. He lives in Co. Sligo.
