Balla et ses Balladins

Of the many bands formed under Guinea President Sékou Touré’s Authenticité initiative, Balla and the Balladins are among the tightest and most creative.

A new double CD, Balla et ses Balladins, The Syliphone Years, a reissue produced by Australian Graeme Counsel, picks choice cuts from the band’s glory days. Today we feature CD 2, 1972-1980. Next week we’ll make CD 1, 1968-1972, our feature CD of the week.
