Sarah Palin's speech and controversy at the Republican Convention

US vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin is preparing to give a major speech at the Republican Convention later today. The aim of course is to silence those who've questioned her choice as John McCain's running mate.

She is being accused of political inexperience and is facing an ethics investigation in her home state of Alaska, where she is governor.

There is also fallout from her revelation that her 17-year-old unmarried daughter is pregnant.
