Residents across the US Gulf Coast are breathing a sigh of relief after Hurricane Gustav hit Louisiana west of New Orleans as a category 2 storm.

But even if it didn't turn out to be the 'storm of the century' as the New Orlean's mayor called it, Hurricane Gustav still managed to pack a punch, with strong winds.
