Federal politics with Michelle Grattan - budget
The Opposition leader, Brendan Nelson, says the Coalition will oppose some of the government's key budgetary measures, including the tax on alcopops. This move alone would knock a $3 billion hole in the budget.
Treasurer Wayne Swan is furious, but Brendan Nelson is determined and emotional.
