Federal politics with Michelle Grattan: emissions trading scheme

Today the federal government is bracing itself for the release of the Garnaut Report, which should set the framework for an emissions trading scheme aimed at cutting greenhouse gases. The question is, can Kevin Rudd take people with him in creating a scheme that will lift the price of energy, including petrol, knowing this will feed through to many other goods, could cost jobs and hurt families? Michelle Grattan discusses the politics of the trading scheme.
