Credit crunch far from over

A year ago, pundits believed the emerging credit crunch would be isolated to the US sub-prime mortgage market. But it's now spread far beyond the American housing sector to cause turmoil across global financial markets. In Australia, it's bumped up our mortgage rates, sent bank stocks plummeting, and hit super funds with their biggest losses in two decades. It will have far-reaching consequences for the real economy.
