Standard Operating Procedure: the story of Abu Grahib

In April 2004, degrading images were revealed to the world, showing the reality of prisoner abuse inside Iraq's Abu Grahib prison. The digital photos, taken by US soldiers, depicted prisoners in acts of torture and humiliatation. In the aftermath, 17 American soldiers and officers were removed from service, seven were jailed for their actions and, four years on, the repercussions continue.

Now the photos and the people who took them are the focus of the documentary: Standard Operating Procedure. The film tries to understand why these people tortured and humiliated detainees and then photographed them.
