Chinese earthquake latest
Returning to China, which yesterday was hit by its worst earthquake in 30 years, killing almost 9,000 people. The massive 7.8 magnitude quake struck in the south-western Sichaun province at 2.28 pm local time, flattening thousands of buildings. But there are fears the death toll could rise significantly as Chinese rescue teams scramble to reach the epicentre in Wenchuan, which has been cut off from the world for the past 14 hours.
