Relief operations after China's massive earthquake
A powerful 7.8 magnitude quake struck China in the middle of the day yesterday, hitting the south-western province of Sichuan, one of the most densely populated parts of the country. The latest death toll is close to 9,000. Thousands of buildings were flattened by the quake, which could be felt in Bangkok, 1,800 kilometres away.
