Foreign Minister defends Burma aid effort

Foreign Minister Stephen Smith has defended Australia's aid contribution to Burma against accusations that it was too stingy. Former foreign minister Alexander Downer claims the contribution paled in comparison to the Howard government's one-billion dollar commitment to the 2004 Asian tsunami. Aid agencies are still struggling to get relief supplies and aid workers into Burma.
