East Timorese

With the world's attention firmly on Afghanistan these days, it's all too easy to forget about countries in our own region, which have endured their own struggles, like East Timor. As East Timor heads towards full independence on 20th May, there is still a huge amount of work to be done in rebuilding the country. We speak to three women who have dedicated much of their lives to doing just that, through preserving the local language - Australian Josephite nuns Susan Connolly and Josephine Mitchelll and East Timorese citizen, Louisa Marcus.
