7:45: NEWCASTLE FRAGMENT:
John de Gravio, a senior archivist of the special collections unit at Newcastle University, talks about a manuscript inscribed in Latin, dating from around the 13th century - and containing the writings of one of that period's most influential theologians. The piece of vellum - or fine leather - is just one page of a four-volume spiritual text by Peter Lombard.

7:54: SCONE CLOSE:
Graham Quint, the acting conservation director for the NSW branch of National Trust Australia, talks about the Civic Theatre at Scone in the NSW Hunter Valley. The art deco cinema - built in 1938 - has been struggling, since a new big competitor was built in nearby Singleton. Its' closure will mark the end of an era in the State's cinema industry - and that's prompted the National Trust to call on film distributors to give small theatres like the Civic a break.

Nan Bray, chief of Marine Research with Australia's CSIRO talks about scientists and government officials from around the Indian Ocean Basin meeting in Perth this week, to consider an early warning system for extreme climatic events.
Dennis Eggington, chief executive of the Aboriginal Legal Service, talks from Perth about a recent murder investigation in which local police collected DNA samples from people NOT matching the profile of the suspect.
