One of the more surprising web creations to come into being in recent times has been a rather wonderful site called librarything.com. It sounds like a monster at the bottom of a vast public library but it's actually much friendlier than that.
librarything.com is a splendid adjunct to the reading life, which provides book lovers with a way to catalogue their book collections and make connections with other readers who might have similar interests.
And traditional libraries are getting involved too.
