Louis Becke and his brother Vernon, left their Australian home at the age of fourteen to go to sea. Louis was to spend the next twenty years roamimg the Pacific as a "supercargo". He recorded tales of wild adventures, the hilarious high jinks and the fierce battles that he witnessed or participated in.
