While a group of hardcore fanatics are already queueing to access the latest version of iPhone in Australia, we're looking at the culture of mobile phones. Are we tapping into their full potential? While they might be the bane of anyone hoping for an uninterrupted night at the movies or a restaurant, in the developing world they are transforming banking and the agriculture and fishing industries. They've also become a crucial part of disaster relief, with cell networks deployed faster than terrestrial services in the wake of events like the Boxing Day tsunami. How are these mobile devices shaping our lives?
