Earlier this week a Sydney man was fined $1000 for posting an illegal copy of The Simpsons Movie on the internet. According to the industry, copyright theft is sucking a quarter of a billion dollars a year from the local economy, but are tougher penalties the way to change consumers' behaviour?
Delivering policy online

The federal election campaign is officially online -- John Howard launched the Coalition's plan to fight climate change on the internet video channel YouTube last week - and Labor quickly followed with their online riposte.
So what is the value of delivering policy online? Who's watching these announcements, and is this type of policy launch worth the risk of the many parodies that follow?

ABC Online's 'Road to 2050' website has pulled together responses from government, industry, academics and the layperson on how Australia is going to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 60% in less than 50 years. Bernie Hobbs has been pulling the results together and we'll also be joined by one of the expert panel. In addition we'll talk with Tessa Tennant who has advised the British government and the Prince of Wales on strategies for mobilising individuals on climate change.
