Australia is seeking a broader international commitment to restore law and order in East Timor - and there are calls for the focus of our military to change - to focus more on peacekeeping duties in the Asia-pacific. With so much instability in our immediate region, is that inevitable? And what about the general assistance we give to "fragile states" like East Timor and the Solomons?
