John Soane's Museum

Sir John Soane was one England's great neo-classical architects of the late eighteenth, early nineteenth century. His most significant architecture was the Bank of England which was demolished in the 1920s. His museum though, remains - as a monument to his style and tastes and passions. He turned his own house into this museum - and it's an almost overwhelming - certainly breathtaking - collection of paintings, antiquities, and curiosities - every room is crammed with objects and colour and light. Lyn Gallacher takes a guided tour with William Palin, the son of Michael Palin.
