Brent
Clough was born in Tauranga, New Zealand. After leaving high-school
in 1979 he worked as a commercial copywriter and producer for Radio
New Zealand's community network in Tauranga and Gore.In Tauranga
he also presented the contemporary music program, Sound System.
After the obligatory New Zealander's stint of OE (overseas experience)
in London he returned briefly to New Zealand before migrating to
Sydney in 1984.
After graduating with a degree in communications from the University
of Technology, Sydney in 1988, Brent joined ABC radio as a Radio
National trainee - he's been there ever since producing and presenting
for the programs Arts National, In The Mix, Radio-Eye and Other
Worlds.
Brent has a passion for music and art and for cross-cultural collaboration.
He promotes contemporary music events under the titles Moodarama
and Nasty Tek, presents the reggae show Splashdown on 2 SER-FM and
is one of the coordinators of the biannual Pacific Wave festival
of contemporary Pacific art and culture in Sydney. He has a Master
of Arts degree from the University of Technology, Sydney.
Brent's interests include record collecting, literature, and bamboo.
