Dietrich Bonhoeffer - Pastor, Poet, Nazi Resister

As a Lutheran pastor in Germany during the 1930s Bonhoeffer actively resisted the Nazi regime. For his part in an attempted plot to assassinate Hitler, Bonhoeffer was executed at the age of 39 just days before the end of WWII.

Bernadette of Lourdes

One of the most famous Catholic saints, Bernadette was a 14 year old peasant girl from the Pyrenees in Southern France when she saw "the white lady" in a grotto in 1858. Soon thousands would flock to the market town of Lourdes to visit the grotto and buy photos of Bernadette.
