New Millenium Philosophers

Philosophers like Socrates and Rene Descartes were the first to consider the possibility of a mind. Somewhere in the 17th Century Descartes uttered the words "I think therefore I am". He was stating that using our minds is what makes us know we exist. We could take it as a testament to the importance of the thinking practice of philosophy. But what role do philosophers play in contemporary society? Two 21st Century practitioners consider the possibility of philosophy as the new disco...or not.

Last time we checked there was a Philosophy Cafe which ran fortnightly Tuesdays
8.00 - 9.30pm at Berkelouw Bookdealers, 70 Norton St Leichhardt

Admission free but get there early because it's very popular.
In Melbourne:
