Pat Wall: "Pain Man of the Century"
20/04/2003
Feared and reviled, physical pain may not be popular but it's an everyday experience for so many people. Patrick Wall, who died in 2002 after a long battle with prostate cancer, was the pin-up boy of pain researchers worldwide. They dubbed him the "pain man of the century". In this posthumous broadcast of an interview with All in the Mind's Natasha Mitchell, given in his home before his death, Patrick Wall discusses his influential work, and offers an insight into his own personal experience of pain from terminal cancer.
