How to Fit a Filter

In most cases, fitting a filter to prevent FM or AM 2-way radio transmitter interference disrupting your TV reception is very straightforward. An antenna installer or electrical store should be able to recommend a suitable filter. Ensure the plug and socket on the filter match the antenna connections of your TV or VCR receiver, ‘F’ type connectors are usually preferable.

Most filters can be installed by:

Unplugging the antenna lead from the television receiver
Plugging the filter into the television receiver antenna socket
Plugging the antenna lead into the socket provided on the filter

As the illustration shows, the filter can also be fitted by the same method to your VCR lead or your radio tuner system. Some filters include ‘splitters’ and can service more that one receiver.
