The aim of the Fund is to assist regional media and artistic talent and foster a regional media production industry for radio and digital platforms.
Since 2001 ABC Radio has allocated funds to commission radio and online content from experienced media producers and talented content providers who live and work in regional Australia. These include radio and new media producers, journalists, artists, musicians (both composers and performers), writers and poets, as well as event management groups or studio and production facility operators.
The Fund is looking for documentaries, music series, drama, comedy, serials, short stories, history, poetry, discussion programs or creative broadcast events proposals.
Investigate the range of projects commissioned so far. The Fund has brought diverse voices to ABC Radio and online audiences; from the tales of a Czech Romany gypsy living in Broome to a 14 part series about the history, music and culture of the Australian surf scene.
