Early last century the connection of mains power was such a momentous event in the bush that many towns threw 'Electric Light' balls to celebrate. Now thanks to our almost insatiable power consumption, and climate change, we're being encouraged to turn it off. But seven decades after the power grid finally reached a small Victorian town, locals have staged a re-enactment to brighten spirits in a community that could do with a recharge.
