Ingram opposes same-sex IVF bill

The Member for Gippsland East, Craig Ingram, says he has backed traditional family values by opposing the Assisted Reproductive Treatment Bill in Parliament this morning.
The bill would allow same-sex couples and single women to have in-vitro fertilisation (IVF).
Mr Ingram says he believes a family unit is made up of a woman, a man and a child.
He says his decision to oppose the bill reflects the values of his conservative rural electorate.
"The traditional family values that a lot of people have in my community and I've had a large amount of discussion with some individuals who may be disappointed," he said.
"But ultimately I think I've made the right decision on the legislation before the House."
