Warning over bogus LGH fund-raiser

Posted October 8, 2008 09:02:00

The Launceston General Hospital has warned about a bogus telephone fund-raising campaign.

The hospital's chief executive, John Kirwan, says some members of the public have taken calls from a person claiming to be raising money on behalf of the hospital, its oncology ward or children's ward.

Mr Kirwan says this fund-raising activity is not officially endorsed by the hospital.

He has urged people to ignore the calls.
