A Warracknabeal man has been sentenced to jail over a series of vandalism attacks and a theft in the Wimmera.

Police say Dale Browney, 22, broke the windows of two stores in Horsham on Sunday morning and stole boxing gloves from one of the shops.

He was also accused of throwing a hammer at a window at the Warracknabeal police station on Saturday.

Browney faced the Horsham Magistrates Court yesterday on charges of criminal damage, theft and burglary.

He was sentenced to two months' jail.
