Police probe fatal Darling Downs car crash

Posted October 6, 2008 15:00:00

An internal police investigation has begun into a fatal car roll on Queensland's Darling Downs at the weekend.

Police ethical standards and forensic crash unit officers have been called in to investigate the fatal crash on Blaxland Road, east of Dalby.

A man, believed to be in his teens, died when his car rolled in a paddock about 1:00am AEST on Saturday.

Police say earlier an officer had followed the car for a short distance.

They say the car did not stop but instead sped away from the officer.

Police say no attempt was made to intercept or pursue the car.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
