Teen stable after suspected brown snake bite

Paramedics in Melbourne have treated a 15-year-old boy for a suspected snake bite.

The teenager is believed to have been bitten by a brown snake at the Wilson Botanic Gardens in Berwick, south-east of the city.

Someone had helped to bandage the boy's wound before paramedics arrived.

The teenager is in a stable condition in Casey Hospital.
