A Perth couple have pleaded guilty in the District Court to charges relating to their mistreatment of a six-year-old boy under their care.

Troy and Sharlene Kerr admitted to neglecting the boy over a two year period from November 2005 to November 2007.

The couple had initially disputed the time frame of the mistreatment.

They were arrested in November last year when the boy was found tied to a cot in the garage of the Kerr's home, they were his guardians at the time.
