Female boxer to plead not guilty to assault charge

Erin McGowan intends to plead not guilty to assault charges. (Stateline)

A lawyer representing the professional West Australian boxer Erin McGowan says she will plead not guilty to 3 assault charges.

One of the charges relates to an alleged assault outside a take away food outlet on Oxford Street in Leederville in March 2005.

Ms McGowan did not appear in court today, but is expected to attend court in November when a trial date will be set.
