Protesters march on McCain's convention

Posted September 5, 2008 12:08:00

Hundreds of anti-war protesters have marched on the Republican national convention in St Paul, Minnesota, hoping to confront John McCain as he accepts his party's nomination for the US presidency.

So far their path has been blocked by rows of police mounted on horseback and standing shoulder to shoulder in riot gear.

Protest organisers say they will keep trying to find a way through.
